Death toll in earthquake on Iran-Iraq border mounts to 450

Tehran,Nov 14:-- Iran says rescue operations have ended in areas hit by a powerful earthquake on Sunday that killed at least 450 people and injured thousands of others.

 

Head of Iran's Emergency Medical Services said, the rescue operations in Kermanshah province in the Zagros Mountains that divide Iran and Iraq borders has ended.

 

State television reported that thousands were huddling in makeshift camps while many others spent a second night in the open for fear of more tremors to come after some 193 aftershocks.

 

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani is scheduled to tour earthquake-damaged areas on Tuesday.
