PM Modi lays foundation stone of AIIMS, IIIT in Himachal

New Delhi,Oct 3:-- Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid foundation stone of the AIIMS Bilaspur and IIIT Una from Luhnu Indoor stadium in Bilaspur town of Himachal Pradesh a short while ago.


Mr. Modi also dedicated Steel Processing Unit Kandrori town in Kangra district. Prime Minister shortly will address Aabhar Rally organized by state unit of BJP at Luhnu Maidan.


Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Sh. Jagat Prakash Nadda, Union Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Thawar Chand Gehlot, BJP state in-charge Mangal Pandey, Opposition Leader Prem Kumar Dhumal, State BJP President Satpal Satti and all BJP MP’s from the state were also present on this occasion.


AIR correspondent reports that tight security arrangements have been made for Prime Minister’s visit.The AIIMS will be constructed in about 205 acre land with one thousand three hundred fifty one crore rupees in four years in Kothipura near Bilaspur city. Similarly, the Indian Institute of Information Technology will be constructed at Saloh in Una district with cost of 128 crore rupees.


The Steel Processing Unit situated in Kandrori of Kangra district has been set up with nearly 70 crore rupees, will produce one lakh tones TMT bars of 8 to 25 millimeter annually. The Health, Education and Employment sectors are the focus of Union Government. Therefore all these three gifts AIIMS, IIIT and Steel Unit state will definitely fulfill the needs of people of this hill state.


Addressing the gathering after laying the foundation stone of AIIMS at Bilaspur, the Prime Minister said, the hospital will be built at a cost of over 1300 crore rupees which will have state of the art facilities.


He said, the new AIIMS will not only cater to the needs of the people of Himachal Pradesh but also the whole North India.


He said, the new hospital will also generate jobs for the unemployed.Mr Modi also said, the Mission Indradhanush which is an immunisation scheme for children has covered significant ground in vaccination.


On laying the foundation of IIIT in Una, the Prime Minister said, the IIIT is not just a college but it is a beginning of a new era.


The Prime Minister also spoke about One Rank One Pension for Ex- Servicemen and said that three installment have already been released and the fourth will be released soon.
