PM Narendra Modi & his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu hold delegation-level talks in New Delhi

New Delhi,Jan 15:-- Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu held delegation-level talks in New Delhi today. During the talks, both leaders discussed a host of issues including defence cooperation, trade, innovation, terrorism, agriculture and water harvesting.


Nine Memoranda of Understanding, including in the fields of cyber security, oil and gas, space and science and technology, civil aviation, information and broadcasting and health, were signed after the talks. The joint statement of Mr Modi and Mr Netanyahu is on.




 Mr Netanyahu will call on President Ram Nath Kovind in the evening. Earlier today, the visiting dignitary was given a ceremonial reception at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Mr Modi was among those present. Talking to reporters after the ceremony, the Israeli Prime Minister said, his visit to New Delhi is the dawn of a new era in friendship between India and Israel.Later, the visiting dignitary laid wreath at Mahatma Gandhi's Samadhi at Raj Ghat.


Tomorrow, Mr Netanyahu will inaugurate the third edition of the annual Raisina Dialogue in the national capital. During his stay, the Israeli Prime Minister will also visit Agra, Ahmedabad and Mumbai. This is Mr Netanyahu's first visit to India. He arrived yesterday on a six-day visit. It is in connection with the celebration of 25 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
